Disenchanted (2022)

The sequel to Enchanted, dropping on Disney Plus 15 years after the original film, sees Giselle, Robert, and Morgan relocating to a new community. But the move knocks the real world and Andalasia off-balance. Disenchanted stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Maya Rudolph, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden.

The People We Hate at the Wedding (2022)

The People We Hate at the Wedding

This new Amazon comedy follows two bickering siblings who travel, with their mother, to their estranged half-sister’s wedding in the English countryside. Predictably, things do not go smoothly. The film is directed by Claire Scanlon and stars Allison Janney, Ben Platt, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and Kristen Bell.

Spirited (2022)

You can revisit Charles Dickens’s Victorian Christmas classic A Christmas Carol with this new (rather loose) adaptation on Apple TV Plus. Set in the present day and starring Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell, this new take is a musical following a misanthrope visited by ghosts who take him on a magical, redemptive journey. If you want a more classical interpretation, there will also be Netflix’s animated Scrooge: A Christmas Carol in December.

Dual (2022)

But when she suddenly finds herself cured and free of illness, only one version of her may live, and the two will have to fight to the death in a dual. So begins the woman’s training for survival.

Blood Relatives (2022)

A 115-year-old Yiddish vampire has his afterlife rocked when he meets a girl claiming to be his daughter. The young vampire seems to be telling the truth, and now he sees a chance at having a family as he travels around America in his beat-up old muscle car.

Cyrano (2021)

Joe Wright adapts the classic story of Cyrano de Bergerac in this underappreciated gem from last year. But he develops a plan to win her love anyway.

Good Night Oppy (2022)

Sparks fly when he meets Aaron, an equally commitment-phobic man who is as drawn to Bobby as Bobby is to him, despite their many differences.
